Air Traffic Controllers Demoted Over Michelle Obama Plane Incident

Michelle Obama Plane

Oh no they didn't! The FAA announced on Wednesday that all planes carrying Michelle Obama and Vice President Biden are to be handled by an air traffic supervisor not a controller, the Associated Press reports.

Following several S-turns, the plane carrying the first ladies aborted their landing. There was not the proper space between their plane and that of a loaded cargo flight that had just taken off.
The new rules now apply to approaches and departures handled by the Potomac Terminal Radar Approach Control (which handled the First Lady's landing Tuesday) and takeoffs and landings at Andrews Air Force base where the presidential fleet resides.

The Associated Press reports that all flights carrying the president are already handled by a supervisor
